Membership Requirements

 OPEN MEMBERSHIP: 

 Race, sex or creed shall be no bar to membership, but membership shall be divided into five categories: Regular, Associate, Affiliate, Honorary and corporate sponsors.


REGULAR MEMBER:  

To qualify, an applicant must be a female, regularly appointed, a sworn or commissioned officer of any town, city or municipality, or employed by a federal agency as a special agent, investigator, inspector, police officer, sworn officer of a department of corrections or specialist.  A regular member shall be entitled to participate in all activities of the organization and shall have full voting rights and privileges. Each member shall be entitled to sponsor regular, associate, or honorary members.


ASSOCIATE MEMBERS:  

To qualify, an applicant must be a responsible citizen who has shown an interest in the welfare of women in law enforcement and who have been sponsored by a member in good standing.  Associate members shall be entitled to participate in all activities of the organization.    


AFFILIATE MEMBER: 

To qualify, an applicant must be a responsible owner, proprietor or manager of a business and a responsible, law-abiding citizen who has shown an interest in the welfare of women in law enforcement.  These members shall be entitled to participate in all activities of the organization, except voting and holding office.


HONORARY MEMBER: 

To qualify, an applicant must be nominated by a regular member of the organization to the National Board and be approved by a majority vote of the Board.  The nomination must include a narrative recommendation describing the nominee’s attributes for consideration.


CORPORATE SPONSOR:  

To qualify, a company must support the objectives of NOBWLE, INC.
