History

 

The National Organization of Black Women in Law Enforcement was founded on March 22, 1984.  It was organized by Special Agent Gladys Jones (ATF), who was supported by women of color from various law enforcement agencies who were concerned about the role of black women in law enforcement.  NOBWLE was incorporated in 1985.


The first members of NOBWLE were:
